Restauratrice accréditée depuis 2020 avec la spécialité peintures. Après avoir obtenu un Baccalauréat en arts visuels et histoire de l’art à l’Université Laval, Ann Marlène Gagnon s’installe à Paris où, ayant complété un Mastère européen en restauration/conservation avec spécialisation en peintures et recherche post-mastère en nébulisation à ultrasons https://www.tandfonline.com/do..., elle entreprend une carrière de restauratrice au sein de divers ateliers et musées français.

De retour au Canada en 2015, elle dispense de nombreuses communications et formations dans les domaines de la conservation préventive et de la mise en œuvre artistique. Puis, elle fonde L’Atelier du Patrimoine, une entreprise qu’elle dirige et qui offre un large éventail de services professionnels en restauration de chantiers patrimoniaux, peintures, papiers, dorure… à une clientèle francophone et anglophone de collectionneurs privés, de galeristes et d’institutions muséales, au Québec et dans la région d’Ottawa.

Depuis 2021, elle est doctorante à l'UQAM au programme de Muséologie, médiation et patrimoine où sa recherche doctorale porte sur l'avenir de la profession du conservateur-restaurateur face au défi de l'art contemporain.

Conservator accredited in 2020 with the specialization in paintings. After a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and art history at Université Laval, Ann Marlene Gagnon moved to Paris where she completed a European master’s degree in restoration / conservation with specialization in paintings and graduate research on ultrasonic nebulization (https://www.tandfonline.com/do...). She then began a career as a restorer in various French workshops and museums.

After returning to Canada in 2015, she provided many communications in the fields of preventive conservation and offers different training sessions on artistic techniques. She is the founder and owner of L'Atelier-du-Patrimoine, a studio offering a wide range of professional restoration services: heritage sites ,painting, paper, gilding ...to a bilingual clientele ranging from private collectors to galleries and museums in Quebec and Eastern Ontario.

Since 2021, she is a doctoral student at UQAM in the Museology, Mediation and Heritage program where her doctoral research focuses on the current and necessary change in the paradigm of conservation-restoration that is authenticity, in view of the significant challenges posed by the institutional collection of contemporary art.
