Congratulations Ian Hodkinson, O.C.

The Canadian Association of Professional Conservators congratulates founding member Ian Hodkinson for his appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada, "for his pioneering and extensive contributions to the preservation and conservation of Canada’s cultural heritage". These contributions include founding the Masters of Art Conservation program at Queen’s University in Kingston, teaching and overseeing many years of MAC graduates into Canada’s conservation profession, helping to establish Canada’s professional ethics and standards as well as our nation’s system of accreditation for conservators through the CAPC, and also continuing to be hands-on in conservation and restoration treatments of countless important Canadian artworks and items of cultural heritage.
