Mrs. Ubbink began her career in 2000 fulfilling contracts in the conservation laboratories of the Library and Archives Canada through to 2005. She opened a part-time private practice conservation studio in 2002, which grew into a full-time business by 2005. Mrs. Ubbink's private book and paper conservation studio provides preservation, stabilization, conservation and restoration services for institutions, government bodies, galleries, private collectors, antiquarian dealers, auction houses, and genealogists. She has been a professor of archival preservation at Algonquin College since 2007 and also provides lectures, workshops, and consultation services for risk assessment, surveying, preservation solutions and preservation planning.
